PHCG offers a wide variety of programs for our community. In our fall and winter children and youth programs, we work to create a low-pressure, fun environment for the participants to meet new people, and build a sense of community. We offer specialized programs that build skills, leadership and community capacity.
Summary
The PHCG Elevate Initiative is a structured, multi-stage developmental framework designed to guide children and youth from SK through Grade 12 toward confident adulthood, meaningful employment, post-secondary success, and community leadership.
Elevate intentionally builds social capacity, life skills, leadership development, volunteerism, workforce readiness, and post-secondary exploration through age-appropriate stages that increase responsibility and opportunity over time.
Our goal is transformation. Youth leave PHCG equipped with the confidence, belief, and practical skills necessary to apply what they have learned within Preston Heights and beyond.
Core Outcomes of the Elevate Initiative

Foundations Stage (SK–Grade 4)
Strategic Focus: Social interaction, team building, relationship development, emotional regulation, belonging.
Development Outcome: Children build healthy peer relationships, cooperation skills, empathy, and early confidence.
Skill Application: Youth demonstrate teamwork and respectful communication in school and community environments.
Exploration Stage (Grades 5–8)
Strategic Focus: Life skills, leadership development, communication, accountability, and community pride.
Development Outcome: Youth strengthen independence, responsibility, and leadership identity.
Skill Application: Youth take initiative, lead group efforts, and apply life skills across academic and social environments.
Launch Stage (Grades 9–12)
Strategic Focus: Volunteer leadership, job readiness, community engagement, career exploration, networking, and post-secondary pathways (college, university, skilled trades).
Development Outcome: Youth graduate with clarity around career pathways and demonstrated professionalism.
Skill Application: Youth confidently apply leadership, volunteer, and employment skills in workplaces and post-secondary institutions.
